Know Your Farmer?

                       My name is

                       Sinikiwe

                       " Nikki "

                       Makarutsa. I

                       grew up in a

                       peasant

                       farming

                       environment

                       in the rurals

                       of Zimbabwe.

                       I was not

                       familiar with

                       the technique

                       of organic

farming until 2003, when I joined the New Entry Sustainable Farming Project in Lowell. This is where I learned the theory of organic farming and its luxuries. I began farming with the help of my husband Maxwell "Max" Makarutsa and my kids. So all my plants are organically grown by my family.
